What Happened?
The Central Motor Vehicles (Sixth Amendment) Rules, 2026 were notified on 8 May. Vehicles declared unfit must be re-tested within 180 days or be categorised as end-of-life vehicles. Fitness tests must be recorded through geo-tagged video uploaded using a government application.
